Check out Charles W. Cushman’s photos taken between 1941 and 1942. The really amazing part? They’re in color. Color photographs didn’t gain momentum until the 60s, so these particular shots are rare. This photograph is especially striking to me, as these men in the photograph are not only classy in their hats and suits, but they are also homeless, as listed by Mr. Cushman. Apparently even being a bum required a higher standard in the 40s.
